Tips on applying
We know applying online can be tedious but it is the only way we can manage the number of applications we get, ensure your application is reviewed fairly and give you a timely response.
Using our online application system you can search for current vacancies, upload a file of your CV (or cut and paste it in) and add attachments such as a covering letter. If we don’t have your ideal vacancy, then you can set up a job agent that will email you when we do.
Bear in mind that we are trying to decide who to invite for interview and can only make our decisions based on your CV, so think carefully about what information you decide to send us.
Please read the adverts carefully, we have tried to keep the job requirements as broad as possible but if we are asking for a certain attribute it means you would struggle to do the job without it – so if we are asking for a Master’s in Engineering we won’t be impressed with your MBA – no matter how good!
We are looking for rounded people, so please also include what you do outside work or study. For the MDP and FDP we are also looking for evidence of leadership potential and of making things happen through people, so if you have suitable examples let us know.
Being able to write succinctly and still communicate well is a much valued skill in PCC. Try to keep your CV short, to the point but with enough detail to give us taste of what you would like us to know about. If you have exceeded 2 pages of A4 at font size 12 you might like to think again. Remember, you can always tell us more at the interview stage – but you need to get there first!
This may sound obvious, but please make sure we have your contact details. Our interview processes tend to move quickly so make sure you give us an email address that you review at least daily.
By submitting an application, you are agreeing that your details may be held, processed and transferred, electronically or manually, by or to any PCC entity (or third party working on their behalf) whether in the UK, Europe, US or elsewhere in order to process your application or advise you of future opportunities.
